Wembley is the UK’s national stadium and the country’s largest sporting venue, with 90,000 seats under the iconic 134-metre arch. Operated by The FA, it is also one of Europe’s busiest event venues, hosting roughly 35–40 major events per year.

What happens here

  • England men’s matches, including World Cup and Euro qualifiers.
  • England women’s matches, including the historic Euro 2022 final.
  • The FA Cup Final and FA Cup semi-finals.
  • NFL London Games every autumn since 2007.
  • Major concerts – Wembley is one of only a handful of UK venues that can fill a 90,000-seat bowl with a single artist (Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Beyoncé and Oasis have all played multi-night runs).
  • Rugby League Challenge Cup Final every August.

Who runs hospitality and catering

Levy UK, part of Compass Group, holds the long-term premium catering contract at Wembley. They run everything from the Bobby Moore Club lounges to the Three Lions Club hospitality offer and the matchday kiosks.

Working at Wembley

Wembley is unusual among UK stadiums in two ways: it has no resident club (no weekly home team), and it operates on a major-event rhythm. That means most of the work comes in concentrated bursts – a five-week NFL window in autumn, a three-week Cup-Final season in May/June, plus 30+ concert and football nights spread across the year.

For staff, that has two implications:

  • Shifts pay well (London rates, premium operator) but are clustered around the event calendar.
  • The volume of casual hires per event is huge – often 2,500+ event staff for a single Cup Final or concert.

Other operators at Wembley

  • Showsec – event security and stewarding.
  • OCS Group – cleaning and integrated facilities management.
