What applicants should check first
Showsec uses similar job titles across different event types, so read the advert carefully. An “event steward” role is often the entry route and may not need an SIA licence. A “door supervisor”, “search and screen” or response role is more likely to require a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence and may be paid on a different band. Venue names also matter: a city advert may cover an arena, festival site and stadium rather than one fixed ground.
For stadium work, check whether training is paid, where briefings take place, whether the shift includes search lanes or seating-bowl stewarding, and whether late finishes are realistic for your travel home.
