Showsec is the largest event security and crowd-management company in the UK. Headquartered in Leicester, the business has been running since 1982 and now operates across more than 700 venues each year, including most major UK football stadiums and arenas.
What Showsec does at UK stadiums
Showsec provides the stewarding, search and screen, response and crowd management workforce for events. On a typical Premier League matchday, Showsec runs a team of 600 to 1,000 stewards and security operatives, depending on venue and fixture.
UK venues operated
Showsec has matchday or event contracts at most major UK venues, including Wembley, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Etihad Stadium, the O2 and Co-op Live arenas, Anfield (event days) and the Principality Stadium. Specific contracts and shift volumes vary season-to-season.
Roles you’ll see Showsec hire for
- Event stewards – entry-level, no SIA licence required, training provided.
- SIA licensed door supervisors and crowd safety officers – for licensed-premises and higher-risk roles.
- Search and screen team – usually requires SIA Door Supervisor licence.
- Response, supervisor and event-team lead roles.
SIA licensing
Most senior security roles require a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence (currently around £190 plus training costs). Showsec runs continuous training programmes to help new starters gain SIA accreditation – worth asking about in the application process.
