Open vacancy. Showsec is recruiting SIA-licensed door supervisors for its Cardiff bank, covering Principality Stadium and other major city-centre venues. Apply on Showsec’s site — Welsh Rugby Union club jobs are a separate employer track.

Cardiff’s national stadium sits in the city centre with a retractable roof, hosting Six Nations rugby, Wales football, boxing and summer concerts. Showsec runs search-and-screen, ingress control and licensed-area security on the busiest event nights.

What the role involves

  • Pre- and post-event venue checks, pass and ticket validation, and queue management.
  • Patrols, conflict management and lawful ejections where required.
  • Responding to incidents and supporting evacuation or invacuation procedures.
  • Enforcing venue policies and working to the site licence conditions.

Who usually gets hired

  • 18+ with a valid in-date SIA Door Supervisor licence.
  • Right to work in the UK; BS7858 screening applies before appointment.
  • Based in or near Cardiff — the advert specifies local applicants only.
  • Comfortable with video interview as part of the process.

Pay and shift pattern

  • £15.80–£18.44/hour inclusive of indicative holiday pay (base rate from £14.10/hour; higher band on selected shifts).
  • Casual/event-day contract via the MyShowsec app for shift booking and swaps.
  • Peak demand around autumn internationals, Six Nations weekends and concert season.

Stadium Jobs tip

This is an SIA-licensed route, not standard unlicensed stewarding. If you do not yet hold a Door Supervisor badge, see Event Steward – Anfield for the no-licence entry path at another ground, or budget for SIA training before applying here. Have your licence number and expiry date ready — Showsec’s form asks for both upfront.
