Open vacancy. Showsec is recruiting event stewards for Anfield. This is an entry route into stadium event work — no SIA licence required for standard stewarding — with training provided before your first shift.

The stewarding contractor is almost never the football club. Crowd management on concert and major event days at Anfield sits with Showsec (or a named subcontractor for specific fixtures). Applying via Liverpool FC careers for a casual steward shift usually sends you to the wrong inbox.

Concourse catering is a different employer (Sodexo Live!): Concession Server – Anfield.

What the role involves

  • Ticket and accreditation checks at turnstiles and bowl access points, including the expanded Anfield Road End.
  • Wayfinding for fans with accessibility or first-aid needs.
  • Concourse and stand monitoring during Premier League, cup and European fixtures.
  • Assisting with controlled egress after the final whistle or encore — Kop-end nights are among the loudest in the league.
  • Reporting incidents to supervisors via radio.

Who usually gets hired

  • 18+ preferred; some junior steward roles accept 16+ with restrictions — check the live advert. Full age split: stadium jobs for 16 and 17 year olds.
  • Right to work in the UK; basic DBS may be requested depending on deployment.
  • Comfortable standing for long shifts, including exposed concourses in weather.
  • Available to arrive around three hours before published kick-off or doors, including midweek European nights.

Pay and shift reality

  • Typical band £12.71–£13.50/hour; overtime or long-event rates can apply on concerts.
  • Shifts often run 8–10 hours; European nights and summer concerts run longer.
  • Progression to SIA-licensed door supervisor or response roles is common after a season — Showsec runs internal training routes. Most unlicensed stewarding does not need a badge — do football stewards need an SIA licence?

Stadium Jobs tip

Filter Showsec jobs for Liverpool / Anfield, not “LFC club staff”. If you already hold an SIA Door Supervisor licence, say so on the application — you may be fast-tracked into higher-paid search-and-screen banks. If you do not, apply as a steward first; paying for an SIA course before you have shifts lined up is rarely necessary for this vacancy.

Application route

  • This page links out to the employer or operator for the actual application process.
  • We add venue-specific context the raw careers advert usually skips: who pays you, shift reality, licensing and what to have ready before you apply.
  • We separate the football club, venue and operator so applicants can find the company that normally hires the role.
