Originally built for the 2012 Olympic Games, the London Stadium was reconfigured for football in 2016 and has been West Ham United’s home ever since. The stadium is owned by the London Legacy Development Corporation and operated by London Stadium 185 – a structure that makes it more like Wembley (a multi-event venue) than a traditional Premier League ground.

What happens here

  • West Ham United Premier League and European home matches.
  • The Diamond League London athletics meeting.
  • MLB London Series baseball games (Yankees vs Red Sox, Cubs vs Cardinals etc.).
  • Major concerts in the summer.

Who runs hospitality and catering

The London Stadium’s premium catering is operated by Delaware North UK, while the wider event-day F&B contract has been held by various operators over the years.

What’s it like to work here

Because the stadium is run by the LLDC rather than the football club, recruitment cycles and event mix are unusually varied – the same casual workforce will service a Premier League fixture, an athletics meet and an Ed Sheeran concert in the space of two months. The Stratford location, with five major rail and tube lines, makes it one of the easiest big London venues to commit to.
